Hafiz in Syria offers sponsorships to many displaced and deprived students who regularly attend Quran memorisation institutes across many different rural areas around Aleppo and Idlib. The emphasis on the rural areas allows those families that may not otherwise have access to such programmes to receive the benefits as many rural communities lack the facilities and focus that larger towns and cities have.
More than 300 Hafiz students from numerous locales receive instruction in one of our partner institutes as well as a monthly stipend. The main areas we have operated in are: Al-Abzemo, Atareb, Al-Jeenah, Ibeen, Killi, Kafr Arouq, Harbannoush, Marat al-Ikhwan, Marat al-Shalaf, Tel Minnis and many of the camps for the displaced in Atimeh.
The administrative field team conducts monthly visits to each institute in order to ensure that the centre and students are meeting the required educational standards, the lessons and progress of the students are reviewed and each student receives their stipend and their progress within the programme is noted.
Our team of qualified professionals, comprising of teachers, managers, and male and female staff supervise the project on a daily basis. Every month the team visits each centre and reviews the progress of all of the students which is recorded in an individualised report.
This system allows the administration to give regular feedback on the running and progress of the project, and performance of the students and instructors. Help and support is given in order to solve any issues and to address any issues impeding improvement.
Additionally, all those contributing to the sponsorship of these students receive regular feedback on the progress of the students. Once a month video of the student reciting what they have memorised s sent, as are copies of their written reports, photos and the results of their examinations and reviews. Every six months an overview of the student’s progression over the course of those months along with their profile and case history is provided and once a year an annual report is drafted regarding the status of the project.
