Our educational philosophy is rooted in Islamic values, thus our pupils are cared for in a nurturing and stimulating environment reflective of those beliefs. The religious curriculum, which comprises a programme spanning pre-school to grade nine, is designed by qualified religious scholars.
Our school has an Islamic ethos and our programme inculcates the values of belief, piety and good conduct and manners. It is the objective of the school to impart the required academic and religious knowledge to all students. Therefore an integrated system is implemented in order to provide a well balanced programme that will fulfil all of a student’s needs.
We believe that our youth are the building blocks of society, and sound Islamic and academic knowledge form the foundation of successful, productive and beneficial individuals. Thus, it is our philosophy that educational enrichment and cultivation of strong character is key to developing a stable, healthy, and prosperous community.
At Abna Ashaam school we have a clear vision and purpose to be recognised as an institution focusing on high quality teaching. Our aim is to provide each student the best Islamic and Academic education and equip them with skills that allow them to contribute positively to their community and connect with a constantly changing global village.
Over the course of more than 7 years, we’ve created a balanced and holistic curriculum in order to achieve a higher level of education for the people in a way that inculcated the values and principles of research, cooperation, thoughtfulness and being an exemplar in society.
General instruction is conducted in Arabic, with students receiving supplementary language courses in English and one of three other foreign languages (French, Russian or Turkish). Our general academic curriculum covers the subjects of sciences, maths, languages, geography, technology studies, and physical education as well as recreation.
Our Islamic curriculum is based on a syllabus provided by qualified scholars, which nurtures both the spiritual and intellectual needs of the learner. This syllabus delves into the broad sciences of the Quran and its branches as well: memorisation, wherein each student will have memorised half of the Quran (15 juz) upon completion of the senior stage, the rules of reading and recitation, tafsir, Uthmani Quranic calligraphy and the special field of Arabic grammar covering desinential syntax and inflection.
In addition to Quranic sciences we teach creed and doctrine, the field of Islamic History, the lives of the Prophets and Prophetic Biography, general jurisprudence and the specialised branch of the rulings of inheritance, the sciences of hadith and the memorisation of Prophetic narrations.
Our pupils are taught in a religious environment, inculcating Islamic culture as a matter of course. Our integrated curriculum enables students to make optimum use of their invaluable time. This comprehensive system aims to not only ensure our students are able to compete in the general academic subjects but aspire to promote rich character development and a strong Islamic foundation, providing them with the life skills they will need to be healthy and productive leaders of society.
